Ask me anything

I am a boxer

A boxer standing alone in my corner

My opponent is larger then I

I keep swinging and missing

He comes at me from all sides

I am losing hope

I am a boxer

A boxer lying alone in my corner

I have swung and missed

He came at me from all sides

Time and time again I took a blow

A blow to my heart

A blow to my soul

And finally a blow to my spirit

I am a boxer

Will I be able to keep getting up

Or will I forever lie in my corner…alone

Companies use this uncontrollable desire against women and use it to their advantage.

“It is amazing how complete is the delusion that beauty is goodness.”
― Leo Tolstoy, The Kreutzer Sonata

Advertisements are designed to make a woman feel bad about herself. They want a woman to think that she NEEDS their product so she will feel better. They want her to believe that she is not good enough and that she needs to change.

Subconsciously ads have a negative effect on women. We are always being pressured to be “perfect”.

No one person is perfect. Everyone is different in their own beautiful way. Just because models don’t have freckles doesn’t mean they don’t look beautiful. Advertisements make us believe that there is only one kind of beautiful when in the real world (the one most people live in) there are many different types of beauty.

What is perfection? “There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion.”
― Edgar Allan Poe
